In Marshall County 150 years ago Pony Express riders carried the mail and thousands of emigrants journeyed through on the Oregon Trail. When the Big Blue River was high, travelers were grateful for Frank Marshall's rope ferry.

Marshall County is still a crossroads, but getting there is a lot easier than it used to be.
